Webinar Description: The alternatives analysis is one of the most fundamental aspects of the wetland permitting process, but it can also be one of the most frustrating to both new and experienced wetland professionals. Join panelists Chad Konickson of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District, David Demmer of the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources and facilitator Tim Smith as they break down, explain, and apply the alternatives analysis process embedded in agency rules and regulations. The discussion will focus on understanding the specific requirements of the Wetland Conservation Act and the Clean Water Act Section 404 permitting program relating to the analysis of alternatives as part of the sequencing process. Real world case studies will be used to illustrate important concepts and applications.
Speakers: Chad Konickson, USACE; David Demmer, BWSR; Tim Smith, Aquic Wetland and Stream Mitigation Strategies
